    What is a lighting ballast controller?

    Lighting electronic ballasts are a key component of many fluorescent, high-intensity discharge, and some LED lamps, allowing the current to be regulated to suit the type of lamp. Without ballasts to control the flow of current at different voltages, we wouldn't see these familiar fluorescent or high-intensity discharge lamps come on, or go off after a short period of time.

It provides a boost signal when we want to light the lights and provide power, and then reduces the initial high current flow to a more appropriate level once the lights are lit.
